Kopytek, Inc. Announces Plans for New 20,000 sq. ft. Printing Facility in St. Louis, MO
Kopytek selects L.A. Schaefer Construction Company as General Contractor; receives $4 million tax-exempt bond issued by the Missouri Development Finance Board.
/Industrial PR News/ - DARDENNE PRAIRIE, MO, September 16, 2007 - Kopytek president John Peterson has selected L.A. Schaefer Construction Co., Inc. in Chesterfield to erect the company's new headquarters to be located at 9595 Dielman Rock Industrial Court in Olivette. "By moving from our current facility at 1455 Page Industrial in Overland," Peterson said. "we will more than double our operating environment as our new $2.2 million facility will equate to 20,000 square feet of office, production and warehousing space and house an additional $2 million in the latest digital imaging technology."
Peterson indicated L.A. Schaefer Construction came out on top in the bid process due to the company's demonstrated ability to support the estimation aspects of the project as well as their expertise in providing a clear perspective on project management. "We are very excited that Kopytek selected us as the General Contractor in support of their expansion efforts," said Bob Schaefer, president of L.A. Schaefer Construction. "All of us at L.A. Schaefer look forward to partnering with Dial Architects to build Kopytek's corporate headquarters."
The new Kopytek facility will be financed with a $4 million tax-exempt bond issued by the Missouri Development Finance Board and coordinated by Southwest Bank of St. Louis. According to Scott Larson, senior vice president of Southwest Bank, the project is an example of a unique tax-free funding process that helps manufacturers invest in the community. "We have extensive experience in financing industrial revenue bonds and partnered with investment banking firm Stern Brothers to deliver this financing option to Kopytek," he said. "This kind of investment is precisely what the bonds are intended to do - support Missouri manufacturers and the economy."
Kopytek's revenues for 2007 are projected at $3.8-$4m. Peterson estimates the company's growth expectancy in 2008-2009, directly related to increased business space, will be in the range of 20-30 percent with revenue projections to double within the next five years. Ground-breaking on the new Kopytek facility is slated for mid-September with the company's intent to be operational in Olivette by first quarter 2008.
